Group Marketing Manager for local office technology provider Midshire, Adrienne Topping is one of the finalists for Marketing Employee of the Year in the Reseller category.
When Midshire was acquired by SBSUK back in July 2017, a key part of the integration revolved around the two marketing teams. Whilst maintaining her existing role for Midshire, Adrienne now heads up and manages the combined marketing communications team for Sharp UK.
Sharp Group Brand & Marketing Communications Manager, Adrienne says: “It is such an honour to have made it this far and to have my work at Midshire recognised with the other fantastic women from Sharp.”
Making the shortlist from SBSUK includes: Corina Schiopu for Rising Star, Holly Chambers and Katherine Harris for Sales Employee of the Year, Kristie Scott-Woodham and Angela Townsend for Manager of the Year, and Alice Lee for Technical Employee of the Year.
Adrienne Continues: “I’ve not been in the role long, but it’s a very inspiring time for myself and my team. Being directly involved with one of the top manufacturers in our industry has opened up a world of opportunities, and I’m proud to say we’re already hitting the ground running!
The glitzy awards ceremony is being held at the Hilton London Bankside hotel, and will see hundreds of men and women from the technology sector come together to celebrate women in the industry and their achievements.
With other finalists from organisations like VMware, UKFast, Vodafone, HP Inc., and Cisco, the tone has been set for an exceptional evening with some of the world’s top tech companies.
Katie Burridge, Senior Marketing Manager at Incisive Media comments: “The issue of diversity in the workplace is more relevant now than ever before, and it’s a proven fact that organisations with a more diverse workforce make better decisions.
“As the voice of the UK IT channel, Women in Channel and CRN are committed to encouraging debate and research into the diversity deficit. Wherever the fault lies, there is no shortage of talented female staff at vendors, distributors and resellers capable of inspiring the next generation. We feel that shouting about the accomplishments of women in the channel - not because they are women, but because their accomplishments are worth shouting about – can play an important role in tackling the issue.”
Businesses will travel from across the country to attend the ceremony and reiterate its message, with sponsors including: TechData, ComputaCenter, Cyber Business Growth, Exclusive Networks, and FXMA.
