Barnhill Primary School, nestled in the heart of Broughty Ferry, Dundee, serves around 450 students daily aged between 3 to 11. The primary school was looking to revitalise one of their learning spaces with refreshed furniture. However, limitations on resources meant a generous furniture donation from Sharp UK was needed to enable the school to enhance its Rainbow Room learning space.
Sharp UK selected a range of classroom furniture to donate to the school including storage units, soft seats for a reading space, desks, chairs for focus work, and decorative pieces for that finishing touch. Most of these new furnishings found their place in the Rainbow Room, turning this area into a vibrant and welcoming learning environment. The enhanced room is supporting the schools' pupils learning experience, providing a diverse range of activities, from soft play to interactive learning. The new education furniture is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly durable and functional, providing long-term benefits for many years to come.
With the help of Sharp’s furniture donation, Barnhill’s Rainbow Room has now been transformed into a vibrant hub for learning which will continue to nurture early learners as they integrate into mainstream classes.
Phil Smith, Barnhill's Deputy Head Teacher commented “At this time due to resource limitations much of our funding goes into building repairs rather than replenishing technology or furniture. Therefore, we do appreciate any donations and support we receive as a school. The furniture provided by Sharp UK has been a great help in supporting us enhance and refresh the Rainbow Room for our students"
Martyn Smith, Furniture Division General Manager at Sharp UK also commented “We are happy to have supported Barnhill with our donation of furniture. At Sharp UK we support many Schools with their technology and furniture needs, where possible, having opportunities to be able to donate items and make a real impact to learning spaces is amazing. We hope Barnhill and their students, enjoy their refreshed Rainbow Room and Furniture for many years to come”
