Sharp’s 80-inch 8K professional display, the 8M-B80AX1E, is now available to buy. The monitor joins Sharp’s 70-inch 8K display (the LV-70X500E), the world’s first commercially available 8K display, in Sharp’s line-up and offers high brightness and a larger screen size. Both monitors are aimed at businesses that need a high level of image precision and clarity.
The 80-inch display offers true 8K resolution of 7680x4320 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio, four times more than 4K Ultra HD and sixteen times the resolution of Full HD. The monitor reproduces images at a higher resolution than the human eye can capture, delivering significant benefits to an increasing number of businesses, in sectors including broadcast, design and medicine, and high-pressure data-intensive environments such as air traffic control.
The 8M-B80AX1E offers exceptional picture quality and enhanced colour accuracy thanks to a wide gamut and 10-bit extended colour range. The HDR (High Dynamic Range) further improves the depth and natural-ness of the image with more saturated colours. The 8K display boasts twice the brightness of the first-generation display, the highest ever seen on a Sharp display, with 800 cd/m² and up to 4000 cd/m² at peak levels.
To smoothly handle video, the 8M-B80AX1E uses a frame doubler, with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, or up to 120 images per second. This reduces motion blur doing fast movements, making action scenes appear more realistic.
