PV installation components
A PV solar installation consists of several components that make up the system. Solar Panels are the heart of any photovoltaic installation, turn the sunlight into electric current. The current that the PV panels produce is DC (direct current), that means the current flows consistently in one direction. If the energy is not immediately required it can be used to charge your solar batteries for later use. Electronics in your house and the electric grid use AC (alternating current), meaning the electrons flow back and forth in alternating directions. The DC is converted to AC by the inverter. Finally the AC power can be consumed by your electronics such as your TV for example and excess energy can be fed into the grid for compensation.
