Sharp launches high-performance 610W bifacial TOPCon Glass/Glass solar module

Sharp Energy Solutions Europe is presenting its new NBJE610 solar module in an important move towards expanding its range of high-performance solar technology for large-scale roof and open space installations.

Maximum project yields
The module has an impressive 610 Watt output and uses advanced bifacial technology to enable energy extraction from both sides of the module. The bifacial design and the rectangular N-TOPCon technology give the new module a range of advantages, including increased performance, maximum efficiency and improved performance in poor light conditions. In particular, the bifacial factor of φ Pmax = 80 (±10)% enables the module to achieve optimum energy yields in a range of installation scenarios and environments. This means an improved cost to benefit ratio for users.

The NBJE610 module is fitted with G12 rectangular N-type half-cells arranged in a 132-cell configuration (2 x 66) with 16 busbars. A white coating between the cells increases reflection to achieve effectiveness of 22.58%. This high level of effectiveness combined with a maximum system voltage of 1500 V makes the module really efficient and high-performance. The temperature coefficient for the power output is -0.290 %/°C, which guarantees the stability of the output even in variable temperature conditions. The module is also LID-free, which reduces the risk of energy losses throughout its service life.

Guarantees and longevity tests
The modules have a 30-year linear performance guarantee. In the EU and other countries, there is a 15-year product guarantee on open space installations which increases to 25-years for on-roof systems. The guarantee commences on delivery of the module to the end customer and is provided by Sharp Electronics GmbH in Hamburg, Germany.

The two-sided glass coating on the modules provides increased stability and optimum protection against external influences such as moisture, temperature fluctuations and mechanical stress. The safety, quality and longevity of the module have been officially recognised and awarded IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 seals. The module has also been subjected to strict tests, including against ammonia, salt mist, sand and PID, in order to guarantee compliance with international standards and resistance under extreme conditions.


Handling and system integration
The physical dimensions of the module are length 2,382 millimetres, width 1,134 millimetres and depth of 30 mm, with a weight of 34 kg. The glass layer is 2 mm thick each. It comes with a 1600 mm cable to allow flexible installation.

Environmentally-friendliness and recyclability
Sharp’s new glass/glass modules are all about environmentally-friendliness. Glass can be melted down for recycling and reused without restrictions.
