Modern Slavery Act Transparency Statement

Sharp Electronics Europe Limited (SEE) is committed to carrying out business responsibly, which includes ensuring that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business or supply chain.

SEE in the UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sharp Corporation. SEE sells, distributes and provides after sales services for products that are designed and manufactured by Sharp companies both in the UK and oversees, as well as designing and selling other services in support of that product range. Our supply chain is primarily with other Sharp companies.

Sharp Corporation has set out ethical standards of behaviour through its Code of Conduct and specifically in this area, the Supply Chain CSR Deployment Guidebook which was updated in May 2018 to conform to the latest Responsible Business Alliance code of conduct.

These corporate policies and standards are enacted in the UK through the SEE Charter of Behaviour and Code of Conduct, which have been communicated to all employees and sets out our commitment to acting ethically in our business dealings and relationships. Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy specifically sets out our zero-tolerance approach to Modern Slavery.

We take reasonable and practical steps, including factors and warehouse inspections, audits and contractual obligations to ensure that our standards are being implemented throughout the businesses of our suppliers and that local legislation and regulations are complied with.

We will assess any instances of non-compliance on a case by case basis and will then tailor remedial action appropriately. We will only trade with those who comply with our policy or those who are taking verifiable steps towards compliance.

This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the slavery and human trafficking statement for SEE and its relevant subsidiaries for the financial year ending 31st March 2024. It has been approved by the Board of Directors.
